Director of Finance
Position Summary:
The Director of Finance is
responsible for leading the accounting and finance functions of the
company. Responsibilities include management of the monthly financial
reports and analysis, develop and oversee cost systems, control of all
company assets, budgeting process and analysis of financial results.
Essential
Functions:
-
Monthly
financial analysis and reporting;
-
Coordinate and
audit month and year end close;
-
Coordinate
with external auditors;
-
Prepare and
submit state and sales tax returns and other government reporting
(i.e. annual reports);
-
Coordinate and
prepare annual budget process;
-
Coordinate
projects and report on capital budget;
-
Monitor and
maintain inventory control and provide analysis;
-
Analysis and
review of all trade allowances and returns by customers;
-
Sensitivity
Analysis of Financial Performance;
-
IMU review and
analysis in conjunction with customer and product line
profitability;
-
Accounts
Receivable & Accounts Payable aging and analysis;
-
Maintain and
support financial system programs;
-
Develop and
manage financial strategies and procedures, internal controls, tax
strategies and reporting requirements to control, safeguard and
enhance company resources and increase financial performance;

Meet with
department staff to discuss department issues and concerns;
-
Provide
employee guidance/direction, counsel and motivation; administer
employee appraisals and give feedback to employees as needed;

Interview/hire/train/terminate employees according to the goals of
the company and the department;

Review hourly
time records to approve employees’ hours;

Prepare for
and arrange monthly stewardship meeting with Manager;

Perform other
duties or special projects as needed.
Position Requirements:
-
BS or BA in
Accounting with a CPA preferred.

Minimum of
seven to ten years experience as a Director in Accounting preferably
in a manufacturing/distribution environment.

Ability to
select, train, motivate, evaluate and manage personnel.
-
Ability to
maintain confidential nature of information to which the position
has access.
-
A high degree
of diplomacy and the ability to deal with and influence persons in
all types of positions relative to inside and outside contacts.

Strong
interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to
initiate action and solve problems.
-
Excellent
organizational skills.
-
PC literate,
MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point Outlook), JD Edwards, etc.
